Minimum wage increases go into effect in three states, major cities

Higher minimum wages will go into effect for workers in Illinois, Nevada and Oregon, as well as a handful of major cities, starting July 1… A slew of smaller cities in California are also slated for an increase.

California extends unemployment benefits by 7 more weeks

Jobless Californians could get up to seven additional weeks of unemployment benefits, bringing the maximum duration to 59 weeks for those on regular state unemployment and 46 weeks for those receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, according to an Employment Development Department announcement Wednesday.
